On January 2, Professor Yuichi Yoshii from Tokyo Medical University visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to spearhead an exchange on advanced surgical technology.
During his visit, Professor Yoshii delivered a seminar speech titled: "Bridging 2D Clinical Imaging and 3D Surgical Understanding: Registration, Multi-view Reconstruction, and Spatial Surgical Simulation." His presentation highlighted groundbreaking methods to transform traditional 2D X-rays into precise 3D models, significantly enhancing surgical accuracy and safety.
Following the seminar, Professor Don P.T. Wu took the opportunity to introduce Professor Yoshii to the esteemed Department of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine, NCKU. Additionally, Professor Yoshii had the pleasure of visiting The Motion Analysis Laboratory and The Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC), where he engaged in a constructive discussion with Professor Su about potential avenues for collaboration.
