Core Labs

Integrated MechanoBioSystems Lab

The Lab is co-established by MDIC and the Department of Biomedical Engineering NCKU. It mainly helps researchers and clinicians to explore the mechanism of disease by establishing models of in vitro cell and tissue culture, i.e. to construct a tumor microenvironment to explore how cancer metastases and how to inhibit the process with drugs; liver tissue to study the metabolic function of drugs; ligaments for exploring how mechanical stimulation and cell-to-cell attachment can cause ligament degradation and lesions.

All research topics require the integration of engineering and biology. Therefore, a high degree of interest is paid in microfluidics, extracellular matrix materials, rapid manufacturing technology, image analysis, etc., and require students and researchers from various backgrounds to join.
