On 12 April, NCKU was invited to attend an online-meeting with AAL, launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) Taiwan. The AAL distinguished participants include AAL Vice President Gerda Geyer, Programme Operations Manager Marco Carulli, and Communication and Public Affairs Manager Nicola Filizola.
Important participants from Taiwan include Chih-Peng CHU Director General of Department of International Cooperation & Science Education MoST, Dr. Fong-Chin Su Executive Vice President & Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering NCKU, Dr. Chih-Kuang Yeh Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Sciences THU, Dr. Chun-Ying Wu Professor of Biomedical Informatics NYCU, Dr. Yea-Ing Lotus Shyu Distinguished Professor of Nursing CGU, Dr. Chin-Chun Tsai Director MoST Division Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium.
The Active and Assisted Living Program (AAL) is a European initiative that aims to support better quality of life for older people, and promotes innovative technological product ideas and services for active and healthy ageing. Taiwan joined AAL in 2020, and became the first AAL member in Asia.
